Once upon a time… ok, no, it hasn’t been that long… Tessa was the one who told me about this international online network thing called Internations. That was back in 2009. I looked it up while I was still in Hamburg, Germany and signed up. I never went to any of the events there because I didn’t like the locations. A few months later I had to travel to Tallinn, Estonia for 3 months and went to their events. They had 20-30 people showing up there and I’m still in touch with some of the people I’ve met there. Almost 3 years ago I moved to New York City and I immediately looked up the event schedule and went to my first NYC event. It took place at the Hudson Terrace and now, after all this time I can repeat myself by saying: I’m still in touch with some of the people that I’ve met at that event. One thing led to another and I became the official Internations event photographer for NYC in July 2010! I’m proud to report that I haven’t missed a single event during my time here. It was awesome to meet so many of you and great that I can consider so many of you my friends today! Some of you appreciated my work so much that you booked me for photo shoots with amazing results.
Look at the following pictures. On the left you see “the internations event guest” and on the right you can see the same person at the photo shoot:
A very special thank you goes out to Ambassador Marc Seago! I always enjoyed working with Marc and I think he has been doing a fantastic job organizing all this events. I have no idea how he always manages to get us those great venues. We had events at roof top bars, exclusive clubs and restaurants, museums, art galeries.
Again, being the event photographer has been a unique experience! I will miss you and the events and I always enjoyed to re-connect with people I already new as much as I enjoyed meeting new people every single time!
It took me some time to go over the events of the past 30 months, but here some of the pictures that I liked the most. My favorite event was the one in January where we had over 1000 guests at 230 Fifth. This was the only time I had a photo-corner set up and it was so much fun to shoot portraits.
Now that I will be moving to Berlin, I’m curious to find out what they have to offer! I will be back for a visit soon and can’t wait to see you all then!!!
